There are obviously a few extremely broken units/powers, and seeing those fixed would be good for everyone. But there will always some weird nonsense powergaming combos (seerstar with baron for example) that no amount of playtesting will erase, as none but tournament players are searching for those. For beer-and-brezel-games at the store/club, I'm fine with how it is.

The point about market research and prices at least is right, even (or rather because) GW won't listen to anyone. The recent official statements paint a picture of "We're the only ones to do this seriously, everyone else is just some backyard rip-off and never to be considered competition", though the reality is quite the contrary. Getting off their high horse would be better for everyone, including gamers, sales numbers, suit jockeys.MajorNesenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3830414113837067378.post-11116322751547599242014-10-30T03:32:14.230-07:002014-10-30T03:32:14.230-07:00I signed as well, not because I think it will work...I signed as well, not because I think it will work, but because I feel that if enough people sign it then GW may pause for a second or two to consider it, and that's better than nothing. I do think that the tournament scene is fine as it is, there seems plenty of good sized tournaments out there and they do a good job of sorting themselves out.

I still don't understand the whole no market research thing, surely that's the first thing you do? If you don't know your market, how can you produce the right things? In so respects I don't like the new multi box setup, the scions being an example. The models are excellent but why do I need all the options for the command squad in every box? Surely splitting the boxes up would drop the price?Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07412304888734273336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3830414113837067378.post-64857973472718158302014-10-29T20:12:07.601-07:002014-10-29T20:12:07.601-07:00yeah, its hard. It really sucks though, but its the only way to truly get a companies attention. Hopefully if their revenue keeps dropping they will reassess their pricing. Again, market research would help a bit here.Grumpy Guardsmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17589097813598490581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3830414113837067378.post-68329272745464986422014-10-29T20:09:48.060-07:002014-10-29T20:09:48.060-07:00The tournament scene should not dictate what the g...The tournament scene should not dictate what the game should be in my opinion. They can have their thing and if they want to modify the game to better suit them, I'm fine with it. Just don't want to hear the argument that we all have to change how we play to accommodate that especially when their opinions are far more diverse than they claim it to be.Grumpy Guardsmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17589097813598490581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3830414113837067378.post-91949944721562858632014-10-29T18:35:19.289-07:002014-10-29T18:35:19.289-07:00I signed it just to make myself feel like I was do...I signed it just to make myself feel like I was doing SOMETHING. It's frustrating wanting to buy more models (Tauroxes) and convert them (3rd party aftermarket kits), but my budget simply hasn't kept pace with their price increases since I started playing in 2001. I still play, but each year I make fewer and fewer purchases.Arianna Flinthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12261679769849430770noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3830414113837067378.post-14234307499974189642014-10-29T17:16:24.928-07:002014-10-29T17:16:24.928-07:00The tournament scene crippled the game and it shou...The tournament scene crippled the game and it should be totally discouraged; it has been about abusive and un-fluffy net lists for years. The first thing I would do if I ran GW would be bring white dwarf back to what it was in the late 80s, and get it in more places than just weedy game stores - like comic book stores and airports etc. It would include all the dataslates and supplements for free, FFG material like Dark Heresy modules, comics and fan art, art from the archives, short fiction and so forth.
