Time for a less rulesy post. Since my scions are fully painted, as I finished them for the tournament I played in, I thought it would be right to post them up with some better close up pictures. I have my three Tauroxes, two command squads, two of my old storm trooper squads, and my plasma scion squad with my modified plasma gun.
Here are the tauroxes with two missile launcher variants and a battle cannon variant.
There are my three painted tauroxes, the work horses of the scion army. Whether you like the look or not, they are more than worth their points on the field and my opponents have been very impressed with what they can do.
Next is my two old storm trooper squads.
My old storm troopers have really enjoyed a comeback and I am so happy that these guys are useful again.
Next are my two command squads, though one can be a small scion squad in a pinch.
The volley guns with the Prime with the servo skull is usually my warlord and I like the squad though I am looking to try volley guns in other units as well.
Next is my last squad which has my modified plasma gun, they are my second rifle man squad.
So there you have it. The more I use the guys the more I like them. The model look great and have lots of details. I can't wait for my storm scion box to get here and build more of them. Its a great army to play and a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy. I plan on starting up the tactics again and will be including tempestus and general scion tactics.

I'm going to be allying in a Taurox and max allying squads (2 + Cmd.) of Scions with my Astra Militarum this Tuesday. I'm hoping for good results because I really want to do awesome things with this army. If they're good or fun I'll start looking into getting more of the old metal models and more Tauroxes.
ReplyDeleteBTW, have you considered magnetizing your Taurox? I'm awaiting my magnets in the mail now. If figure that I don't want to put all of those options to waste.
Actually I have, the autocannons and volley guns are magnetized so I can swap those out as needed, I have extra turrets as well so if I want to run the gatling gun instead of autocannon I can.
DeleteThey are good and once you get the hang of the orders they do really well.
They look great I really like the copper look on there guns (It looks like copper to me) the volley guns and the plasma guns to me look the best. did you take a color scheme from the codex or make your own? Ether way beautiful models and tanks.
ReplyDeleteI made my own scheme, I've had the old storm troopers painted in that style before the codex came out and painted the rest in a similar style. There is a similar scheme in the codex though, forget which regiment has it.
DeleteIt's thanks to this blog that I am definitely going to be starting up my own Militarum Tempestus force. Unsure of coloration as of yet. But I have a list planned, which includes an Imperial Knight (Because they are also awesome models!)
ReplyDeleteglad to inspire you and I hope you hope you have as much fun with them as I do. Check out my newest post, it covers the basics on building a tempestus army. A knight is a great friend of the scions!
DeleteThe servo skull looks particularly awesome. Aren't you worried about it breaking off?
ReplyDeleteNot really, its glued on pretty good at multiple points and being low on the model means its not sticking out to get caught on anything. Glad you like it though, I do have a personal like of servo skulls, there are just so 40k
